Adventure

Each year Kathy and a number of her experienced riders go on multi-day rides to various locations in the Taunus area north and west of Frankfurt. They ride the horses from the Fohlenhof stable in Steinbach to the selected location, stopping several times for breaks for both the horses and the people. Once at the destination, they either stay overnight in a hotel or camp and then ride in the area until departing to return to Fohlenhof. Some people ride the entire trip and with others participating on selected days. Kathy has done similar trips through the Taunus for a number of years now, with each trip being in the summer. Destinations have included Heftrich, Niederlauken and Bad Schwalbach. (Riders pay their own expenses including hotel bills.)

Kathy takes a small number of the experienced riders each year to the USA for two weeks of horseback riding in the mountains of Colorado. They stay on a ranch and the two weeks includes one or two cattle drives as well as doing chores and repairs at the ranch as required. (Riders pay their own expenses including airline tickets.)
